The Desist brake kit includes a Restrain brake lever, linear brake cable, and Desist brakes with Koolstop pads. Kink Desist brakes are fully forged from 7075-T6 aluminum for ultimate stiffness. The unique cable pivots and straddle cable system create a smoother and more powerful pull. A low stack spring and cap design also provide extra clearance for drivetrains. This brake set also includes the legendary Kool-Stop brake pads for plenty of stopping power. The Kink Restrain brake lever is constructed from a fully forged aluminum lever, body, and bracket to maximize strength and stiffness. It features a low-profile, finger-friendly design as well as an ergonomically designed lever for added comfort. It's oversized hinge joints and pin increase strength and prevent cracks or breaks from over-tightening. The Restrain lever is also universal and can be used on the right or left side. The Kink Linear brake cable features an outer linear strand housing, which greatly decreases bind when the cable twists during tricks. The inner 1.5mm cable is ground smooth to create an even smoother, drag-free pull. Aluminum ferrules prevent housing failure at both ends, and can easily be refitted after cable trimming.

Kool-Stop disc pads are made with organic materials that are blended and bound together using a resin. The compounds do include small amounts of metal to improve the braking formula but though this is a mined material the pads are largely organic. The term semi-metallic can also be used. The DELTA standard requires a rotational movement of the foot toward the outside or inside for disengagement. This function improves cyclist's safety; no body or bearing prevents disengagement toward the inside. Compatible with non-KEO LOOK pedals, their contact area is wide for optimal comfort.
